This year’s Christmas celebrations have come at the end of another busy year for the Welsh Conservative team at the Assembly. We’ve had a very successful general election result in Wales and I’m delighted that Wales has sent a strong Conservative team to represent our interests at Westminster.
Of course, my Assembly colleagues and I continue to do everything we can to scrutinise and challenge the Welsh Government here over their management of devolved public services – and that includes some of things that matter the most to the people of Wales: our health service, our schools and even some of our taxes!
Therefore, as Christmas approaches, I’m sure we’re all looking forward to spending a bit more time in our local communities, engaging with local people and attending local events. It’s this engagement that is so important in ensuring that my colleagues and I are raising the issues that are important to you. We’re always willing to listen and learn and so if you see us over the Christmas period, please feel free to say hello and tell us what matters most to you.
Christmas is a time for engagement – with families and loved ones, friends and our local community. However, we must also remember that Christmas can also be a very difficult time for some, whether it's because of work, illness or maybe distance. I also want to take the opportunity to pay tribute to those in local public services, volunteers and local groups, who work tirelessly to help make Christmas special for so many people across Wales. The work that you do is valued by so many and I want to personally thank you all for your outstanding service.
Therefore, on behalf of the Welsh Conservative Assembly group, I wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Nadolig Llawen.
Paul Davies AM
Leader of the Welsh Conservatives
Mae dathliadau’r Nadolig eleni wedi dod ar ddiwedd blwyddyn brysur arall i dîm y Ceidwadwy Cymreig yma yn y Cynulliad. Rydym ni wedi cael etholiad cyffredinol llwyddiannus iawn yng Nghymru ac rwy’n falch iawn bod Cymru wedi anfon tîm cryf o Geidwadwyr i gynrychioli ein buddiannau yn San Steffan.
Yn amlwg, mae fy nghydweithwyr yn y Cynulliad a minnau yn parhau i wneud popeth y gallwn i herio a chraffu ar Lywodraeth Cymru a’i ffordd o reoli gwasanaethau cyhoeddus datganoledig – ac mae hynny’n cynnwys rhai o’r pethau sydd bwysicaf i bobl Cymru: ein gwasanaeth iechyd, ein hysgolion a rhai o’n trethi hyd yn oed!
Felly, wrth i’r Nadolig agosáu, rwy’n siŵr bod pawb yn edrych ymlaen at dreulio mwy o amser yn ein cymunedau lleol, yn ymgysylltu â phobl leol a mynychu digwyddiadau lleol. Yr ymgysylltu hwn sydd mor bwysig wrth sicrhau bod fy nghydweithwyr a minnau’n codi’r materion sy’n bwysig i chi. Rydym ni’n barod i wrando a dysgu bob amser ac felly os ydych chi’n ein gweld ni dros y Nadolig, dewch draw i ddweud helo a dweud beth sydd bwysicaf i chi.
Mae’r Nadolig yn amser i ymgysylltu – gyda theuluoedd ac anwyliaid, ffrindiau a’n cymuned leol. Fodd bynnag, mae’n rhaid i ni gofio hefyd y gall y Nadolig fod yn amser anodd iawn i rai, oherwydd eu gwaith, salwch neu bellter o bosib. Rwyf am fanteisio ar y cyfle hefyd i dalu teyrnged i’r rhai mewn gwasanaethau cyhoeddus lleol, gwirfoddolwyr a grwpiau lleol. Mae’r gwaith rydych chi’n ei wneud yn cael ei werthfawrogi gan gymaint ac rwyf am ddiolch yn bersonol i chi am eich gwasanaeth rhagorol.
Felly, ar ran grŵp Cynulliad y Ceidwadwyr Cymreig, rwy’n dymuno Nadolig Llawn a Blwyddyn Newydd Dda i chi a’ch teulu.
